Millimeter-wave radar (Long Range/Short Range)
The "Millimeter Wave Radar", utilizing advanced radar and millimeter wave device technologies, emits millimeter waves that are not readily affected by the climate to detect the surrounding conditions. It has become a very important element of safe driving support systems. The "Long Range Millimeter Wave Radar" measures with a high degree of accuracy the distance/relative speed/angle of forward vehicles in order to maintain inter-vehicle distance and to perform various types of vehicle control such as braking to reduce damage in case of a collision. The "Short-Range Millimeter Wave Radar" detects following and forward vehicles to support vehicle operations, by controlling lamps, headrests, seatbelts and other parts that prevent collisions or reduce damage in case of a collision. The "Millimeter Wave Radar" has further expanded the potential of next-generation cruising systems to provide safety and peace of mind while driving.
Multi-Angle Vision™
This system combines the images from four cameras installed to both sides, and at the front and rear of the vehicle to provide three-dimensional bird's-eye view from various viewpoints around a vehicle. This system aids driver visibility to support safe driving when reversing the vehicle to park or at intersections with poor visibility.
Air bag control module ECU
This electronic device detects vehicle collisions with its sensor and optimizes the deployment of a built-in air bag to disperse and lessen the impact on the driver and passengers. It also contributes to driver safety by assisting the operation of the seat belt.
Vehicle Security System (VSS)
When there is a forced opening or closing of the doors or impact on the window glass, an alarm is triggered. Sensors quickly detect vehicular invasion or unusual vehicle conditions, and automatically cause lights to flash and the horn to honk intermittently. The doors can also be locked and unlocked by remote control.
