TIANJIN@FUJITSU@TEN@ELECTRONICS CO, LTD. (hereafter referred to as TIANJIN FUJITSU TEN) (head office: Tianjin, president: Mitsuyoshi Horiba, capital: US$8,720,000), a Chinese affiliate of FUJITSU TEN LIMITED (head office: Kobe, Hyogo, president: Takamitsu Tsuchimoto, capital: 5,300,000,000 yen), opens a branch in Shanghai for the purpose of expanding its parts procurement activities in China and strengthening its cost competitiveness. The East China centering around Shanghai is concentrated with parts manufacturers. As a result, high-quality parts can be easily procured at lower cost in this area. The Shanghai branch will promote the procurement of parts used by TIANJIN FUJITSU TEN, and aims to achieve a local parts procurement rate of 65% in fiscal 2006. Furthermore, the Shanghai branch will eventually expand procurement activities to serve as a parts supply base for the global FUJITSU TEN Group companies including those in Japan. This will strengthen the cost competitiveness of the entire FUJITSU TEN Group. The Shanghai branch also plans to gradually develop its information
gathering and marketing functions for the automobile market in China that
is expected to grow in the near future.
