Opening Ceremony at Fujitsu Ten Research
and Development (Tianjin) Ltd.

FUJITSU TEN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (Tianjin)
LTD. a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ten Ltd. (Headquarters:
Kobe, Japan, President: Takamitsu Tsuchimoto,
Capital: 5.3 billion yen) held an opening
ceremony on October 20th at 3:30 P.M. local
time (4:30 P.M. in Japan time) on its property
in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development
Area of China. The construction of the office
began in March 2004 and was completed in
September of the same year.
Guests were invited from the government of
Tianjin City and the Tianjin Economic-Technological
Development Area. From Fujitsu Ten Group,
President Tsuchimoto of Fujitsu Ten Ltd.
Chairman Horiba of Fujitsu Ten Research &
Development (Tianjin) Ltd. and President
Yokoyama of Fujitsu Ten Research & Development
were there to welcome.
The aim of Fujitsu Ten Research & Development
is to strengthen its market in China and
also to reduce cost by purveying materials
within low-budget, -transportation area.
The company was established in November 2003
to develop and design car-audio, car-navigation,
and platform mechanism and so on.
In this subsidiary, not only Chinese-model
products, which is suitable for the Chinese
market design and functions, but also products
for the global market will be developed.
By promoting locally procurable components
in first design levels, we intend to expand
local procure.
In this facility, a consistent system: from
design to trial manufacture, to the evaluation
of world-class products are constantly carried
out. For example, experimental driving courses
based on various assumed road conditions
are one of its evaluation.
This project will start with the development
of deck mechanisms and car audio systems
and gradually commence to develop high quality
products such as car navigation systems.
