July 27, 2009 -- FUJITSU TEN LIMITED, manufacturer of leading automotive electronics, announces that its sound system is employed in the "Super Live Sound System" of the third generation "Prius" launched by Toyota Motor Corporation on May 18, 2009.

This system includes woofers and tweeters, eight in total, using neodymium magnets for weight saving. By driving those individual speakers by a high-quality 8-channel audio amplifier, the system creates acoustic space with natural, comfortable, and well-balanced high and low frequency sound.

[Main Features of Super Live Sound System]
- Box speakers in the floating structure (see figure on the right), which enables high-fidelity reproduction of original sound by reducing dull sound, as mid-high side speakers in the instrument panel.
- Large diameter (16cm x 23cm) midwoofers in the front door.
- Speakers mounted in the optimum positions at the best angles (see figure below).
- Quality 8-channel amplifier, which allows for excellent sound tuning suitable for the cabin space of Prius.
